more paint selections as the colours used in the original with Johns build of the Wattle, do not seem to come out as on the magazine colours.

Hi Mick… the engine cover, looks great and the colour spot on to my eyes.

Have you been out on the water with her?

What system have you put in the Wattle, I have been looking at, the

component shop and Action for the electronics to fit the needs of the Wattle . control of motor , rudder, steam, lights and sound. Best regards, Ian

                Wattlers:

A major milestone was achieved on the Wattle on 30th September. In an operation that lasted from early morning until after dark, she was lifted from her dry dock by two cranes onto a low-loader, transported 600m to her new temporary mooring, and re-floated for the first time in years. Here's the lift. They decided to paint her hull green.

Slings removed and tied down on its low-loader (48 wheels), the Wattle awaits relocation of the cranes. Note the zinc anodes on the hull.

After a journey of just 600m, under the Bolte Bridge, the Wattle nears its destination in the evening light.

Working by floodlight, the Wattle is lifted from the low-loader once more and manoeuvred into position.

She floats! High in the water and listing slightly, but then the ballast and some equipment is yet to be fitted. It is estimated that another six to nine months will be needed now to complete refurbishment and have her back in service.

                          Hi John…

Thanks for the pictures and update on the Wattle, it is looking good and in a much better state of repair.

They have put a lot of time and effort in getting the Tug to this point.

Its a great insite into the forth coming 6 to 9 months, which I expect will fly by as they get her sea worthy.

                          Best regards,

                                        Hi AJ…

                                        Thanks for looking in…

I have been looking in to the components I need for the Wattle and have now gathered the batteries and the steam foggy unit, Dave Milbourn has been a great help with additional wiring diagrams for the extra systems I will be adding.

Will explain everything once I get to the assembly stage.

                                        Best regards,

                                        Ian

Hi ian! looking good , looking at the way you have positioned the servo for the rudder looks good I have placed it to one side which makes it awkward to get at it I may yet decide to re-arange it, also the electrical equipment could have been better arranged but thats afterthought,

I do like the way John has the setup his latest looks interesting a runabout and the seting up is just the same form as all the others I have seen! brilliant I just love the set up the building board and everything is just like second nature, I like the riveted and plated look but not knowing what time I had left just wanted to see it on the water, there is no pond near us plenty of water but no purpose built boating facilities just the sea lochs and our Loch Awe there is a lagoon 5 min. away but its so deep if she sank it would be a goodby!!

                                          laters then

Hi Mick… Good to hear fro you , hope all is well?….As for re arranging, I have been looking at the wiring and components for the ideas I have to install in the Wattle. I think from the pictures that John has very kindly posted, the Wattle refirb will be complete and sea worthy before I have completed my build, but no rush… I will upload some pictures If I can sort this windows 10 out….regards Ian

I have been talking to DM … that electricery wizard…

With the wiring diagram from John and the component assembly set up that Dave and I have looked at, he has been very kind in helping with what I need to do.
