Saito boilers

Can anyone tell me if it is ok to use a brass boiler such as the SIATO B2E.

My dad has one that has never been used and it seems a waste to scrap it.

BTW, I'm new here and have spent a lot of time reading this forum.

Don't be disheartened over the lack of comment as steam is a very specialised subject and brass boilers can be considered as being unusual.

Yes it would be a shame to scrap it but unless you are very familiar with steam plant I would advise seeking a local qualified engineer who can check the condition of the boiler.

Some clubs are affiliated to thier regional association of model engineers and have members who are up to date on regulations for inspecting and testing boilers and issuing test certificates. Latest rumour I heard was that boilers below 3 bar/litres do not need a full certificate, but probably need an exemption chit to say so.

Looking a bit further down the forum main page there is a section devoted to steam – posting there might run you into someone who really does know – they might not bother looking at the beginners section, so your chance of a reply up here has been slim.
