It’s always been a popular model and plenty big enough to convert to RC. I used 12″ stainless shafts running in 10″ brass tubes to put the motors in the centre section and reduce the number of openings.
The motors are servo motors, couplings are Robbe flexible rubber tube, rudders driven by aircraft control rods running in plastic tube and a viper speed controller. Originally it was fitted with a 40 meg micro reciever but this has now been changed for a Spektrum 2.4 unit.
The battery is a purpose built five cell rechargeable pack.
