I built the 100 part 'HMS BOUNTY' kit from 'del prado' and was so pleased with it I had a carpenter build me a display case to show it off (and keep it safe from little fingers) and I also commissioned an artist to an oil painting of it, seriously bitten by the model makers bug !! Well since then we have moved house and no longer have the room for the display case and must offer it for sale, so if any of you proud model makers want to show off your pride and joy this is the display case for you.

            Hi Ashley,

            Thanks for your interest.

I've got the unit in storage at the moment and just been to measure it, the dimensions are –

            the Perspex case itself is – 35" H x 43" W x 17" D

The whole unit , standing on legs is – 50" H

It is a substantial unit with a hinged wooden lid.

            I hope that helps.

            Ian

              Hello Ian
I’m currently building the del Prado Bounty so your case is of real interest. What price do you have in mind?

                Hi Jim

Thanks for your interest, and it's a great way to show of all your hard , but pleasurable, work.

I had the case built for me by a carpenter when we lived down in Exmouth and he charged me £145 for the build but that was a couple of years ago and its a solid piece of kit, so I'm looking for somewhere around the £100 mark.

                Ian

cheep at that price………..You couldn't buy the timber and "glass" or acrylic for that these days, never mind make it as well,

just a pity it's too small for any of my lifeboats.

                  neil.
