Hi , I am nearing completion of a 42"model of an Edwardian Thames steam launch and am preparing the brass fittings.

Can anybody recommend the sort of coating i could spray on to preserve the beautiful shiney finish.

I have tried Halfords clear spray laquer but this has tended to spoil the gloss finish.

I would be grateful for any suggestions.

      Alan.
