I have a 4.8v nimh battery supplying power to a Graupner speed 400 7.2v motor. The esc is viper 10. The rudder on the boat works perfectly but the motor won't run. Is the above combination at fault?

I am new to model boats, and have made the boat from scratch.

      Thanks

        Hello Philip,

The Mtroniks ESC is specd for 4.8 to 12 volts – so at 4.8 volts you are operating at the lower limit of the esc. I have used Viper 10's without any problem though I was operating at the upper limit of 12 volts.

If you are using a separate receiver battery then you need to disconnect the +ve lead as per Mtroniks instruction sheet.

Why do you want to run the 7.2 volt motor at 4.8 volts ?

Lastly – this should be in a new thread as this has nothing to do with Trent lifeboat.
