You’ve caught the action there Bob,and as you say a good day was had by all at the Bury Metro Club (Warship Day) and this boat by one of Etherow Model Boat clubs finest Warship builders.

And here is another from the same event,by a chap from the Northwich club,complete with sound from an ipod player with missiles and gun sounds!

Hi,

Nice to see the Bury Club have got water back in their lake. It was drained earlier this year after struggling for the last few years with the dreaded Blue Algae. This water was once called the ‘Lido’ and swimming was allowed!!  Don’t think that it would meet the standard today.

Have this Club any more events booked this year? Perhaps somebody could inform us in the ‘Events’ posting on this forum.

Unfortuneately…………….The lake is about to be drained again………To remove dredged up material!

So the next event is anyone`s guess!

The next event the Tug Boat Day is OFF but the Club are hoping to have a Open day when the lake is full again and officially opened with the park, date TBA and they hope to be ready for their End of Season Day which is on the 7th of Sept includes "Big Ships" (Which Bob won last year). If you want somewhere to go this weekend you could try the Colwyn Bay Club reggatta which is this Sunday 27th July. Its behind the Council Offices and has its own free carpark
