Hi Paul,
Many thanks for the nice words of encouragement. Whilst the build on the interior has been long due to the detail added i have enjoyed it immensely so it’s satisfying to know that all the hard work has not gone un-noticed. I am also looking forward to seeing the completed boat too and there will be no let up in detail or standards that i set myself. please don’t hold your breath thou, you’re in for a long wait.
You’re words will spur me on to finish 14-10
Having seen pictures of your trent i’m sure they’d look great together.
As can be seen from the rest of the gallery I’ve dispensed with the kit supplied materials for the build of the antennae platform and gone with all brass. Made more sense than trying to glue all sorts of different materials. The ‘H’ antennae, Racal and Whip aerials can all be removed for transportation – they’re quite delicate. The Racal turns at a gentle pace hence the need to build a brass housing for it to house the gearbox and motor. The weather vane turns by blowing on it so hope that forward motion of the boat will make that turn as well. All the navigation lights will be working as with the blue flashing light via UHF switching gear. The yellow flashing light- not shown here will operate when the boat takes on water as per the real thing.
Hopefully i will never get to see that happen though a safe guard pump installed will hopefully mean i can retrieve it before the electronics go to Davey Jones Locker.
