Northsider/ Dutch Courage

I am now building the Billing kit "Fairmount Alpine" scale 1:75, which I find a bit too small allthough a nice model.

I am considering my next build and have thrown my yes on Tyne Models NORTHSIDER or Model Slipways DUTCH COURAGE, in the favour of Northsider due to the 1:25 scale.

The Northsider is called a "semi kit", whereas the Dutch Courage I see as an "all inclusive kit" apart from motors and electronichs.

Could anybody tell me what a semi kit is.

A semi kit means that not everything is included to complete the model, the amount of material and fittings you get will depend upon the supplier though. Tyne Models specification seems to be quite comprehensive but there are likely to be some items shown on the plan which are not included in the kit and which you will have to make yourself.

Model Slipway kits, as you say, are very comprehensive and just about everything will be included.

You could always email Tyne models and ask them what items are not provided.
