        hi all

I've come into so old boats. This is one I shall call it batman. It's poorly glued together. And hasn't been finish. But I'm lost with boats. I'm just after a little help. What is it. Was it a kit. Looks like the cheep boats on line. I wish to try to split the hull is the a solution to kill the glue. Any info will help

Hi Chris and welcome to the forum.

I interpret the lack of posts to mean that no one can positively identify your boat. It does look like the common RTR job, as sold for ages by Nauticalia, for instance.

Unfortunately the hull is not likely to come apart very easy, and ABS plastic one will be welded together by the glue and if its fibreglass it will be very thin and damage easily. If you MUST open it up then a DREMEL may be the best method, saw it with the cutty blade.

Why do you want to split the hull?? are you going to fit it out with new gear? or just glue it up properly (but could just run resin or whatever around the inside) The RTR has two props, the ones I have seen, for steering (such that it is)…using differential prop control means no rudders and hence can be made cheaper.

You would want rudders, and for my money, a single shaft.

How large is this item please???

            Hello Chris

It doesn't look like a commercially built boat and the builder has gone to a lot of trouble with the interior and the stern drive.

A poorly glued hull can be easily rectified without taking the hull apart.

Speaking for myself I would set up a TX and try the boat on the water and see how it performs.

Ah I didn't see the other pictures. Yes….I am with Paul … glue it up and give it a good thrashing (that's what they are for) Ashley

                Hi Ashley

A good thrashing, a man after my own heart!!!

If it is not fast, paint it red, add a brushless and Lipo, also scare the hell out of Dave M.

                  Ashley,

Re your posting on 26th I would guess boat length is approx. 30 inches (judging by the kitchen objects).

Hi sorry I've been away and I keep forgetting to reply. Yes the hull is 33" long. The out drive? Is the same as what's been added to the rear of the kyrosio blue streak I have too. But yes sadly it leaks think I have sorted the prop shaft leak. It's the main hull joint now. The hull is split the hull used hasn't worked I a couple places. So I'll use my plastic abs glue I have to seal it up. I didn't think of running the glue around the inside! I was luck to get 5 boats in totlal. But this is the one I want to sort and the blue streak. The only thing with this is where to place the battery. As I'm still sure that the motor should be closer to the front
