          O.K. – I just can’t resist this opportunity

…. to go from some sensible ideas to the down right ridiculous ….

          (1)   How about a hot-air or helium filled balloon,  no way is that going to scare the fishies, totally silent, just remember to realise it up wind.

          (2)   If you have large lungs – you could try the old pea-shooter !

          (3)   Still working on this one ! (ps it involves a submarine and some sonar gear)

          Cheers – Ken

Why not walk round to the other bank…….knock a stake in…….wrap a string round it…..come back…..tie the string together…….now you can tie something on it and pull it backwards and forwards………cough!

But Bob .. people are getting lazy and would want to drive around .. and there is global warming [ too much exercise if they don’t drive] and the cost of petrol to be considered

I think my idea of a string to stop/cut motor contacts . open trap [bigger pull] … and retrive [heave ho you blagards] is the simplest and closest to practical … but people like making things complicated … don’t you?   I often do

I’ve opened a photo folder and posted not one of my boats but a better finished and tuned sister to mine … I’m quite catholic in my modelling interests and it was an opportunity not to be missed when the project came up and I opted in.

What a super idea!……what super spectacle!

Can you imagine that actually taking place?……..WOWee!

APOLOGIES TO DAZZ AND DAVE FOR OUR FLIPPANCY!………sorry, we got carried away!

Bob that isn’t such a daft idea as its sounds.

Although sometimes its hard to get to the other bank, the fish ain’t daft they know we can’t reach them along the bank of an island.

No i think its going to have to be a chopper.(joking really)

Can you imagine the interference with that Bob?

Of course if a few are flying there would have to be some sort of ground control,in a little model tower.lol

Just come back from the pond this afternoon and discovered that bait boats are not allowed on the big fishing lake due to the frequency problem! …..as mentioned another thread

                    That`s scuppered it!

                      Nice one Bob !

The choppers also a good idea, come in handy if there are any flying fish around !

A much easier way – give up fishing – and nip to Tesco’s, hear they have some very good offers on at the moment in the fish department ….

                      Cheers – Ken

There used to be a boat called the Shieldhall which sailed daily from Shieldhall Dock in Glasgow to the South End of the Isle of Aran at the mouth of the River Clyde Estuary. It and its sister ship the Garrochhead carried the raw untreated sewerage from the City of Glasgow and dumped it by means of opening doors on the underside of their hull. Believe it or not it they were amongst the cleanest boats on the Clyde and used to take pensioners ‘Doon the Watter’ for a day trip, providing them with a slap up meal etc. No smell ever encroached the decks, but when they dumped their ‘cargo’ I bet they attracted some huge fish

There is as far as I am aware scale plans for building a model of them, they were actually nice looking ships, the following link will show you a photo of the Shieldhall.

Incidentally I am totally new to model boat building having just bought a Calder Craft model of the Clyde Pilot boat ‘Cumbrae’

                                      All the best
