Hiya,
I'm a new member to this forum, however I'm active on the sister forum, modelflying. I've been building planes for a good few years now.
Just recently my toddler has started showing an interest in the model boats on a lake near us (Broomfield Park). So this has got me thinking maybe instead of another plane I mgiht build a little electric boat. I'm a bit of a fan of vintage aircraft and while browsing a 70s Keil Kraft catalogue I noticed a bunch of Aerokits boats. I had a bit of a search around on the net for a plan and found that various sources are offering kits.
So… I'm wondering am I doing something foolish!? I was thinking of something like the Sea Scout. Is it a complex build, and not a good thing for a beginner? If it is a litle advanced, can anybody recommend a more sensible first build?
I've got a 3 channel 2.4Ghz radio (from a car, Spektrum DX3S), with a receiver and a full sized servo spare, along with a few bugg packs, LiPos and a good charger. I'm happy to buy new servos and batteries if needed, and I'll need a motor and ESC if one isnt provided in the kit.
