I have been visiting this site for a while and finally took the plunge and joined up.

 

I am new to RC Model Boating, having bought a ‘Ready to Go’ model Tug.

My goal is to eventually build an RC model of the tug; Wolraad Woltemade.

 

Looking forward to continuing reading the wealth of information, and advice given by the forum users, and hopefully in time I’ll be in a position to assist others.

If you need any reference photographs of the Wolraad Woltemade, I have some on-board pics that were taken aboard her sister ship, the John Ross, back in the seventies (when they were both newly-built). I’m pleased to report that the JR is still in service, now operating under the name ‘Smit Amandla’ out of Cape Town. She was built in Durban, whilst the Woltemade was UK-built (but I’m sure you already knew that!).
