Well it is for a novice!

I wish suppliers would say what the mounting hole centres are for their motor mounts. I assume their description of 600, 800 etc. or range refers to brushed motors which means little to me.

I'm only buying brushless motors and for the 42 dia. I first bought I had to email Cornwall Boats to get the correct mount for the 25mm hole centres (measured across the dia.).

I now have the same problem with a 36mm dia. motor which has 16mm on one axis and 19mm on the other (why the difference?). Despite Googling again I can't find out what mount I need.

It would help of course if the motor manufacturer provided that information, perhaps some do?

As you say the manufactures specifications can usually be found by Googling, perhaps one of the members has the information so if you give us the details we might be able to help.

If you look up the equivalent brushed motors on the MFA website you'll find the dimension across the face-plate for the securing screw holes. For a 380/400 sized motor this is 16mm whereas for a 540/600 it's 25mm. That means that a 380/400 mount should suit your motor, although if you're using a moulded GRP/nylon mount you may have to relieve the mount itself a fraction to allow for the diameter of the motor. **LINK**

              Thanks Dave.

              Just what I want.

Yes, was thinking of a GRP/nylon mount so will get the file out!
