      Hello All,

I have a model boat that is in bad need of repairs. It is made of matchsticks. It has a unique story behind how it was made and who. I have several other pieces that need work also. But I am having difficulties finding someone that can help with repairs. This piece went thru a few hurricanes. Anyone that has knowledge that can help me I would greatly appreciate it.

      Thank you,

      Tug

If you show us some photos of the damaged areas we should be able to offer some advice.

I will send some more photos when I get uploaded. But from the picture you can see one of the push knees in the front is down. The rudder is broke. Railing issues.

If the railings are just separated at one end but still present, it should just be a case of carefully reglueing them. PVA or superglue. If they are just regular matchstick colour, replacement should be no problem. If the rails are smaller section than matchstick size, thats what sandpaper is for.

For the other parts, if they are still present, refixing should not be a huge problem, apart from figuring out just how they should fix. Missing parts are an entire different story, since from here there is no way of telling if the "other" coloured wood is naturally that colour (redwood matches?) or a stain, and just what wood or stain was used.

For something as good looking as that, it needs doing right.
