Good evening all, I am doing my homework on suitable rc systems and have taken a fancy to hitec (optic 6). Somebody has told me that you can only use hitec equipment i.e. receiver and servos as it is not interchangeable. I have a futuba servo for my Joffre rudder, can i still use it. Hitec are slightly cheaper than futuba hence the question. Thanks for responses! PAUL
I use Futaba servo's with my FlySky & my Spektrum tx's, I also use HiTec sail winches with those tx's too, usually it's only the Tx & Rx that have to be same system, so you should be ok using a Futaba servo with a HiTec tx – rx set
Nowadays the only difference between manufacturers is the shape of the plug. While it is a good idea to prevent incorrect insertion by having a keyway, manufacturers that do so all use different shapes in a pointless attempt to convince model makers who have knives to stick with one make. As long as you know that the black wire goes nearest the edge of the RX board, everything just works fine.
