Hello Ken,

This forum has many experienced and friendly model boat builders who are there if you need help. I looked at your interesting models and was intrigued by your stern wheeler. It clearly has an electric motor near the stern but it also has what I assume is a boiler forward – is this a dual propulsion boat (ie electric and steam) ? I also noticed that the ratio of the gears on the electric motor and shaft of the stern wheel would only give a reduction of about 2 or 3 to one – is there a gearbox missing from this picture or does the motor have an integral epicyclic gearbox ? I am guessing that this boat is about 5 feet long. I envy your test tank (aka swimming pool !).
