hi to all im new to the model boat world never built a model boat before ,so ive come on here for help,i love tug and fishing boats ,so if you have built 1 and think its good for a new guy please let me no thanks

I built an Artesania “Amsterdam” tug as my first boat model, and was (and still am) very impressed with it. It’s big enough to have plenty of room for all the internals, such as motor, speed control, receiver etc, and sails very well. It was also quite easy to build. Mine is over 8 years old now, and still going strong.

HI,

 

I’ll give you two tips:

 

1- go to and join a modelling club in your vicinity. One where they build boats, you will tremendously learn from them

 

2- begin with a kit, whichever you want, ABS or Fibreglass hull or plank on frames (POF) hull, you decide. Billing boats, Aeronaut or Soclaine produce very cheap POF boats to begin with…
