I use a Flysky, good solid radio, no computer needed, you set it all up on the units own screen ………

But to be honest, for what HK are charging for the unit you have (I think I've got the right model)

it would be cheaper to just replace it with a new one from them, I can't find any spares for them anywhere.

On most 2.4GHz transmitters, the black plastic part that is likely the broken bit is just a cover for the length of actual aerial that sits inside it. If this is still intact (i.e. if it hasn't been pulled out by its roots), it should still work. Black duct tape can do a great job of holding the plastic tube together.

I buy my receivers from 'Bang Good.com', they are good value, but they come from China (doesn't everything these days) so you have to allow a bit of time for delivery.

Because of postage costs, I ordered 4 at the same time, but if you only have one boat, buy 2, then you have a spare for only 1 postage cost.

They are actually on offer at the present time ……………..

Hobby Kings site list a complete new outfit https://hobbyking.com/en_us/hobby-king-2-4ghz-6ch-tx-rx-v2-mode-2.html at under $30, obviously plus postage, so not the total disaster it could be. Using the same model outfit, there is a good chance that you wind up with a spare compatible receiver.
