          Hello Alan

          Thanks for the help

Have had a look at that site, thanks for the tip, will get me going. the tug plans look great, will have ago.

I also must say that I now have been able to get on to the Model Boats Mag and now also have the Dusty Miller plans which I hope to have a go at.

April edition is still a week to go as of 23-5-08.  We are really 2 months behind here. Am looking forward to the next few issues as the web site shows me what plans are coming up.

Need to look into a subscription

          Thank you again Alan

            Hello Friends,

I am building the Smit Nederland model tug boat in scale 1:28, its length is 1 meter and width is 30.48cm (3’3” x 1’) made of wood.

I would like to make it working with electrical motors and with the required accessories. Please can anyone send me some information or a list about all the required electrical accessories that I need for this type of tug boat.

I bought the Hi Tech Eclipse 7 having 7 channels and 7 memories including four servos with the kit, so I need the rest of the equipment for the tug boat such as two geared motors, electronic speed controller, two prop-shafts, one R/H propeller and one L/H propeller of 75mm (3”) diameter with the kort nozzle, rudder and motor mixer control unit, sound and lighting unit etc. and the diagram of the hole equipment that show how one can build the electrical equipment/fittings from the first step to last thing.

If anyone could give me a hand and try to help he is welcome, in that case my e-mail is nicholas490@gmail.com thank you.

Nicholas … are you aware of the technique of increasing a radio control transmitter potential to get extra channels by utilising the extra swing of the servo arm, as controlled by the trim slide , to make the arm move futher than normally and so trip a switch.  The switch needs to be the press to on and press again to off type and this controls some function which is either on or off.  The system was written up in MB some years ago in regard to the building of a paddle pleasure craft such as used to operate on the Clyde and from Southend etc.

Hobo … if you have access to older copies of Model Boats  [ Public Library?] there is a plan for the tug IKWERRE in 1964 page 384.   HM Rescue tug STORMKING in 1970 p110.  TID Class 1972 p.372  That is MB plan number 1146.

Actually when I check the second part of my index covering the 1990’s I see lots of plans in MB.  .. you could say ad infinitum   My index is not a proper one but rather articles of interest to a practical modeller.
