Hi can anyone help me?. I am almost at the end of building my first scratch built model of the scothish fishing trawler the Sheila. Im now a bit stuck as the plans don’t show much detail of the riging and colour of the boat. Do any of you out there have any infomation that would help me if so I would be very greatful for your help. Not much help down here in New Zealand as they don’t seem to be hooked onto boats as yet. A few english guys have now started a club and the fathers and son’s soon come to watch. I moed here 9 years ago from a well known town that most of you would of herd of and where the hering fishing started from, Yes Lowestoft and I must say what a sight it was to see a few of the drifters in the model boat magazine and all that I have the details of fron who built the boat to the owners well all of the boats life realy. Anyway thats enough of the rambaling on. I hope some one out there could give me some info so that I can complete the boat and get her down to the lake.

I look forward to any help you can give.

      Thanks

        Hi Neil

I’m not into building fishing boats myself, yet.  But you might like to try the Scottish Fisheries Museum, Anstruther, Fife. Scotland.   They have a superb range of Fishing boat models on display, and apparently a good research facility ,to all things relevant to the scottish fishing industry. Their website is http://www.scotfishmuseum.org  Hope this will be of some help to you.
