First time modeller

Hi Everyone. This is my first post. I have been interested in R/C model boats for some time, but have yet to get one in the water. Quite some years ago I bought a Precedent KD Perkasa (49” with ABS hull) but never really had the space to build it. After a few house moves I now have the space, but can I now find the kit? I know ultimately this will be my choice, but is there any point in buying an ARTR/RTR model to get me going, or should I dive in and build from a (simple) kit? My only building experience is with Airfix models as a kid. If I do build from a kit, which would you suggest? I quite like the idea of a scale tug or similar. I think that a 2.4GHz radio (probably 6-channel, so that I can progress onto more detailed models with lights, moving parts, sound, etc, at a later date). I would like a good quality radio, but not pay the earth. Many thanks in advance. Paul

Welcome to the forum, pds24. Find that kit! You just know you put it somewhere! (I once put my glasses in a place so silly I couldnt possibly forget…)
