              Hello Brian

I might be shooting myself in the foot but you might do better trying to sell the boat on ebay, at least in an auction it will find its true value.

              Paul

                  Hi Ashley

Just to let you know….as I know that you will be wondering…..that strange silver thing on the end of the prop shaft is an IC engine, these scarce and mystical things run on a strange liquid called petrol and are incredibly fast and yet for some strange reason they are banned from many ponds and lakes.

I know that these are rare these days and yet if you listen to some of the older model builders you will hear them speak in hushed and reverent tones about these wonderful things and how they used to thrill the crowds with their amazing speed and sound.

Paul… I WAS wondering….but shouldnt it have… oh wotsitcalled…oh yes, a boiler?? is that right?

I get lost amongst the arcane relics of model boating

                      Hi all

Looks very much like ad E.D. (Electronic developments) 3.46cc diesel engine.

At the time the bees knees. Not the rear facing flywheel for easy strting with a bit of sting or leather cord.

Used to run on model diesel fuel. I don't think it's petrol as we know it, as it's a compression ignition engine.

                        Hello Ian

Oh dear now you have caused some confusion, the problem is that you know its a diesel, I know its a diesel and the more discerning members of the forum also know that its a diesel but now we will have to explain what a compression ignition engine is to Ashley.

                        ……now how should I begin?

                        Paul

Righto. I understand now.. but just where does the compressed spring fit? or is it missing?

Mr T.. bring this new hull to the meeting place and we will give you lots of conflicting good advice to get you started.
