Well done Bob,another great idea, will not aspire me to build one as shed is only 10&12 and with fishing gear and 1/12 scale houses not much room. Looking forward to much more to admire
This model of a type 23 frigate is used at Britannia Royal Naval College, Dartmouth to teach damage control and stability. It features all the internal comaprtments of the original design and each one can be flooded individually.
The thing you can see behind the funnel is a Rolls Roye Olympus Gas Turbine engine. Four of these are used to power the Invincible class carriers
I rembermber well the large Carrier model being sailed into the Boat Convention in 2001 . Also the full size sling crane required to launch this 29ft monster model .Another good example of Hyper scale can be seen at Madurodam in the Netherlands . This Rotterdam model is not the largest to be seen.
Or there is this Jaw dropping quarter scale test model of the "Zumwalt stealth land attack destoyer Really though how would you get such a model is the back of your car , or "pass me the batteries" or "Opps I forgot the ballast" But in fairness this DD1000 makes the Type 45 look positively beautiful
Hi Bob I have visited the lake and as you say it is a lovely spot and ideal for the type of models you show. There are many modellers around the UK that build and sail superb models and their achievements often go unrecorded which is a great pity as there is a lot of modelling talent out there, as your camera is testimony to.
