Beginner needs background – please help

Hi All.

 

I’m considering my first RC boat, I’m probably OK with the construction I’ve made various models and projects over the years. How ever I dont have any background in RC so I’m looking for something that will fill in that gap in my knowledge.

 

Can you point me to any websites that offer a good starter introduction to RC, I want some detail a proper introduction?

 

I’ve found a number of sites that apparently offer this info but in reality are just places to shove affiliate links and adsense adverts.

Somewhat flippant maybe (it has been said), but here’s a link to some very basic stuff.

I would try calling a reputable retailer…Cornwall model boats, for instance, as they may well have a number of books on the topic, failing that, finding a local boating lake and chatting to the assembled throng will throw some enlightenment on the subject.
