All up weight

I have built an astra mm2404 30 offshore boat its weight is 5lb 10 ounces ready to run.is that overweight for a 30 inch boat. I am happy with my boat and will run it as it is , thanks

Wayne. No idea. BUT assuming you followed the plan, and used materials of the type and size given, then the boat weighs what it should do. Obviously the equipment fit will make some difference between such similar boats, If you are happy with it, and are not doing competitive racing, it weighs what it weighs!

Just out of interest I have dashed down to the shed, kitchen scales in hand and weighed my MFA Seahawk (38 inches long), which has a fibreglass hull/top, an MFA 850 engine, Graupner out-drive and 5000mAhr Nimh battery and this weighs a touch over 5 lb.

I'm not sure why you want to know why your model might considered overweight if you intend to do nothing with it even if it is.

As Ashley says it will weigh what it weighs. I have no models which I can compare directly but my 24" lite-plywood Huntsman weighs just over 1.1kg ready to launch – or about 2 1/2 lbs. Compared with this and Ashley's much larger Seahawk you Astra does sound a bit on the 'portly' side, but I suspect you know that already.

Still, I should talk about being overweight… Oy veh!!
