The launching of Son of SS Great Britain was successfully carried out today!.

Engine trial was a success, the steering needs work ( it hasn’t got any steering! ).

No independant drive, the cargo in the hold shifted and it turned in circles.

          Rudder to be added.

Chaps. I was misled erlier on, they are fitting the paddles to the correct side!  I had a thought on cheapness: if "lanes" of strings were run end-end along the course, then the boats could have a pair of loops fore/aft, and be attached to the strings so that they would follow the line from one end to the other and thus not need steering…or radio control at all. ??? Good idea Ashley,

… and if you tie the string to one of the loops you can get rid of the motor and pull them across – cheaper still !
