      afternoon guy
can ay one suggest a motor and propsharft combo for the following hull
I have a link to a hull similar here

      950mm long
      150mm wide
130mm high but 1 would like to have 40mm above the water line

I am not looking for a mega fast shipp but would like it to be able to get out of any trouble quick

also are water proof shaft worth the extra or is it worth puting a collection vessel ate the enternal end to collect ant leakage and empty regulary

      cheer

the comment about propshaft should say collection vessel at the end of propshaft at the internal end for water collection

          cheers

Wayne. Difficult one this, everyone will have their own preferances.

To start with, what battery do you think you will be using ?? I would have thought a large gel cell, say a 12v 7A hr one or something would do..you will need a bit of ballast anyway. An MFA 800 turning a 50mm Prop on a 5mm shaft would be an option, or a geared 850 for more oomph…or come to that just an 850.

There are several 900 types out there to direct drive a large prop..or geared 700`s.

I am afraid a surf will be needed, perhaps Cornwall model boats…they have a good range of motors and geared units.

The hull looks a bit yacht like? from the bottom view.

Personally wouldnt bother with a waterproof shaft. Wont have much leakage and in a fibreglass hull of that size it wont matter anyway.
