What a lovely vessel with such in interesting history.  Unusual to see the keel isn’t level and even more unusual to see the shaft is angled slightly upwards in relation to the keel.  Probably to get the engine as low in the hull as possible as it looks like quite a proportionally tall engine, while still using as large a propeller as possible.  Creative design at its best!

Plans arrived today and to my extreme pleasure the third sheet has all frames on it so no tedious working out frames from ships lines . Wow lots of detail included in the first and second sheets ,so looking forward to starting it . I, like a lot of members i guess like to study the plans and formulate how I’m going to go about building the model ,it’s one of most pleasurable parts of the project I think . I usually take a few weeks thinking about it and working out material lists. Photos of 2 of the sheets below ,not the best of photos but in my defence it’s a big model and I was standing on a chair.

                    Hi Mick,

That is a great choice, there is something about tugs isn’t there 🙂 better start looking for lead ballast or similar, my Cullamix took 25 lbs to get her down to the waterline !!

                    Regards Ray
