      Hi guys

I,m needing some help and advice,..1st the advice,I,ve had the Trumpeter USS Arizona 1.200 for a few years now,It was always my intention to convert it to RC ..but i never got round to it due to getting arthritis in my hands,,but, now I,ve found a guy who will undertake the build for me…what i need is there was a build article in the magazine, showing how to do it,…does anyone have a copy of this magazine that i can buy,..furthermore, what size motors and props & shafts should i buy,

now for the Help,a couple of months ago i asked for help regarding the plans for a Billings Golden Hind, a member sent them to me ..but for the life of me..i can,t remember who it was,I can remember vaguely that he only wanted me to make a donation to a Hosp,..but, i can,t remember which….".Now before you all think i,m losing my marbles,…well let me just say….the bag burst, but i was able to find them all,..but some may have been put back in the wrong place,"

Hi William. If you have a look on you tube, search for ‘rc the arizona’ you will find some examples. There are also some links to build threads that will help with the motors. Based on other models I have made I would use two 385 motors on 6 volts.
Hopefully someone will reply who has made this model.

            thanks for the reply

i did a search on google and came up with loads,Its my intention to have the 4 motors fitted,…i,ve been offered 4 x 22mm cast brass props for £33..which seems to be a good price, and i,ve found 380 motors at £3.95 each

William. 380 motors are much to fast for this (not that i dont like a bit of speed).

Some standard MFA type 280 motors would be ok, or certainly 385`s if you had the room.

Sorry not to have been on earlier but my Internet has been down today. You can see Dave Abbott's 'Plastic Magic' conversion of the Arizona kit on this site here:

                **LINK**

SHG models can supply a running kit although it isn't specifically listed in their catalogue: **LINK**

Dave doesn't say which motors he used, but from blowing up one of his original photos they appear to be JP Power 400 types: **LINK**

                Hope this helps!

                Colin

Hi William, as Ashley says, don’t use 380 motors, very unsuitable. I agree with Ashley about the 280 motors if space is at a premium, otherwise I think the 385 s will be best. They will work well from about 4 volts up to 15 volts. This gives you a huge performace range just by changing the power. That said, my large warship is too fast on full throtle with 2 385 s on 7.2 volts. The resrerve is nice to have though.
