Well done to the organisers for putting together a super show.

Always the first show of the season its a welcome event after a long damp winter, a chance to meet old friends and pick up some much needed odds and ends.

At this time of year the weather is always unpredictable and the host club always run the risk of rain ruining their wonderful outdoor displays and yet they always do their very best to provide a superb show.

      Thank you

Ignore those old farts and s***-stirrers, Dave. They trot out the same old tripe – almost word for word – after every show. Admiral Bishop does his best to restore sanity but that's not what they want to hear. Quite what they do want to hear is anyone's guess. If I were Colin I wouldn't waste my time on them.

              Hello Dave

Sorry to have missed meeting you on Saturday.

Just been on Mayhem to read the comments, Isn't it sad when people complain simply because they can't see beyond their own narrow horizons, I fail to understand these armchair critics who seem to delight in pulling people down, don't they realise that it is these negative attitudes that deter clubs/individuals from hosting events and ultimately drive down the membership of our hobby.

The Ellesmere club members must have put long hours into organisation and logistics to provide that superb venue for the rest of us and I, for one, really appreciate the hard work and dedication that goes into making it a great event.

I would challenge these critics to get off their collective backsides and, instead of sniping from behind the keyboard actually get out and help organise a large event……..I bet they won't be so vitriolic afterwards.

              Paul

These are the very same characters who stand in front of you at a show and demand a "show price". It either doesn't occur to them just how much extra it costs to bring the goods to them at a show – as opposed to just posting them – and if it did then they wouldn't care a hoot anyway. They bellyache about the cost of entrance, disabled access, poor car-parking, lack of catering, steep stairs, bad weather, Brexit – in fact any damn thing.

If life is 'give and take' then these folk will only ever experience half of it. I can't say I feel any sympathy though.

Thanks for posting that Larry. I don't think a lot of people really appreciate just how much work goes into organising shows, and indeed club events as well.

Nice to see the photos, it's a long time since I was last there.

                        Bob,

Paste the link into your post then highlight it. Then click on the link icon above the post input box (the greenish one on the second line) and a dialogue box will open up on your screen. past the link into the dialogue box URL slot and confirm it. That will make the link in the post live. It actually only takes a few seconds.

My problem is the Wndows10 upgrade

it has messed up my routine and the IPad is tricky too

The link I posted was done on the PC, which struggles with Win 10 now

Not to mention the pasting problem that has cropped up on the ModelBoats recently?

There are no recent problems Bob, the website hasn't changed so the problem is likely to be at your end.

Windows 10 is unlikely to be the issue – more likely it is which browser you are using.

Hi All I missed the show because I only came home from hospital on Thursday and Elaine did not feel it was right that I should undertake the long trek to the show and with little time to organise a hotel said No.

Regarding the comments about the Mayhem issue confirmed my thoughts after 3 visit to the forum that it was not for me . If they had not got something good or constructive to say about the show why bother .

Those of us who appreciate what has been done for us will sometimes forget to leave a word of praise .

Next time you buy something at a show say a heartfelt thanks for the time and effort put in for our benefit wink Michael

it is indirectly a W10 problem, I was only able to post the link as I when posted it I used the option " Open

with Windows Explorer " rather than the default Edge or what ever it is called that w10 uses

Have you got Windows 10 on your PC?

If so…….How did it affect your usual routine?

My PC was in chaos and sorting photographs was a steep learning curve and still is at time

Yes I have it on all machines, Did not affect my usual routine in anyway, not sure why sorting photos was a problem, I have a lot on mine with no issues.

The only initial problems were that you could not use the emicons on some forums, indecision, this seems to have been corrected, other wise all is ok. ( To do things like add links I just open the site up in explorer rather than the edge).. Not Really an issue.

                                        W10 Rocks….

I think we need to keep things in perspective, negative comments from maybe three or so attendees count for nothing against the many people who thoroughly enjoyed their day.

You don’t need any external URL as long as you have copies of the photos on your PC.

Click on the Albums camera icon on the top line of this page – the one in the pale grey band, next to “Friends".

The next screen will prompt you to Create a Photo Album.

Give the Album a name, check the Public box and click Create Album.

Now you can browse your PC’s folder system for the photos you want to include. You can only use JPG format and the size is best kept below 600kb per photo. See the FAQs section near the bottom of the RH column on this page for instructions on reducing file size. You can add up to five photos before you have to Upload them to the Album, but you can continue to add further photos by following the screen prompts.

When you have finished, scroll to the bottom of the list and Save the album. You can add further photos at any time using this method. You can also create more albums if you want to. Third-party hosts such as Photobucket are NOT required.

Now whenever you want to include a photo in a posting just click on the little camera icon just above the Reply text box, select the Album and photo(s) and off you go. Here's one from mine
