Hey everyone! I'm new to the world of r/c model boating but am excited to start on my first project! I purchased the June 2012 issue which featured a Triune model. The woodworking component is no problem for me as I love to build wooden models but the electronic components have me a bit confused. In the description it mentioned I need either a 385, 540, or a 545 motor; a 6 cell NiMH battery, and a p30 type propeller with a 10" propeller shaft and matching tube. I know I also need a rudder, and I'm guessing some type of receiver for radio frequency. I have no idea what type specifically for either item, does anyone happen to know what types I should use? Thanks to some family members I have been gifted the servo, and 6 cell battery pack, but does anyone happen to know a good website to buy the other components on?

Thanks to any and all who can provide assistance!

          Phillip.

Marks model bits is a good source of prop shafts and excellent couplings.

Howes and Cornwall model boats sell all the other gear, but there are loads more.

Cant remember how big the Triune was, motor fitment will depend on how fast you want to go.

          A 2.4Gig r/c set , 2 channel, are very reasonably priced .

The Component shop does batteries and things electrical, you may find an easy wiring diagram trawling through the likely posts, or alternatively Dave Milbourn will supply you with one. Action electronics did have some very good and easy to understand diagrams on the site (now the Component shop) but just having had a quick look cannot see them. DM to advise.

The current winter special has a definitive article by DM in it regarding things electrical.

Diagrams are still on the ACTion website **LINK** Just hold the cursor over Diagrams and Articles in the blue box on the LHS of the page. Diagrams are split between Model Slipway types and all others, but there's no reason why you can't use a MS scheme for any type of model. The drawing for Shamrock would probably suit the Triune as well as anything else.

Thank you very much everyone! I appreciate the advice and direction towards suppliers. I'll be sure to post the finished product when I am done! Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
