On a more boating theme, over the course of the last few days sea trials have continued for the Gull.
The sail winch has been moved inside the hull to free up space on deck, bit of a chore as the hatch cover is a bit small for my big meat hooks! The winged keel I found had a big braking effect when tacking so I went back to a standard shaped lead lump with an extra half pound for luck.
Various sail combos were tried in some strong to moderate breezes and overall she sails very nicely, heads up into wind well the only adjustment left to do is a bit more rudder throw.
I am now concentrating on the visual look, deck clutter, cannons and discarded rum bottles.
