Just spent £130 on bits, metal mostly, form prok V.
Unavoidable, but did include some very large davits.
ALSO having actually found some ships boats of the correct scale and look, I have decided not to fit them, or at least not permanently. This is due to the sticky outness of them and the likelihood of Mr Clumsy breaking them, and also it would preclude and contact with the jetty, when coming alongside . The davits will swivel, and I have decoded that the boats can be hooked on as necessary, and this will help storage, as the box will only be about 10 inches wide and not 14.
Servos in and linked to the rudders. Rudder operation seems to be a bit all or nothing but this is fine and you will see why later on. Some work has been done on the bulwarks, and I have also fixed in my mind the various additions to the hull outer (awaiting stuff).
There are several bulwark cutaways and the hinging of the covering flaps is causing me some indecision.
Barn-door flaps or fold down`s, this seems to be the options but there are no references to the correct method. Common practice for this class of ship had them one way, but the only half decent picture of it makes me wonder if they were the other way?? What to do??
I am proposing at trip to Chatham soon-ish to view a ship based there and this may provide some answers. I wonder if they have any archives for boats???? Hmmmm
