I have been going through my dad’s (RN Fleet Air Arm 1939 -1946) collection of books and found a promotional publication by the British Power Boat Company where he was once an apprentice. The cover and a couple of photos are reproduced at:

Did Model Boats ever publish plans for a model of a BPBC gun boat? And if it did then in which issue?

Yes there is a plan, see here: http://www.myhobbystore.co.uk/product/16860/bpb-70ft-motor-gunboat-mm1280

Not sure which issue it was published in but I may be able to have a look later.
