It's that game where you all go in until you all get out, then the other team go in, until they get out, and you try and bowl a maiden over

You guys "down under" do have an exciting life, going in until you go out and bowling maidens over.....I haven't done anything like that since my rugby club days and all we did was tip cows over as our maidens would thump us if we tried it on them.
I presume the "Ashes" is a reference to the Aussie love of BBQs.

![]() 510 forum posts 215 photos | Paul, I'm shocked
![]() ![]() It's the age old battle between right and wrong (where the English are always wrong
![]() Anyway, it's all played out on the hallowed turf of Lord's, The Oval, Edgbaston, Headingly, and Swalec Stadium ?????? in Cardiff (that's a new one to me, whatever happened to Old Trafford?), as well as the Melbourne and Sydney Cricket grounds, Adelaide Oval, The WACA in Perth, and the famous Gabba in Brisbane.
It's not a matter of life and death, however, it's far more serious than that
![]() I think I'd better have a lie down now, I'm mentally exhausted

![]() ![]() ![]() Neil,
So sorry, but was trying to avoid firing the first broadside.......
Ah well lets get on with it the....War is declared.......at least until August..
As for that Swalec Stadium, we have to be politically correct these days and have a test match in Wales. Old Trafford, where I spent many happy days as a youngster, is simply not up to the job at the moment. It has been allowed to deteriorate considerably, but is now having a complete refit.... |

![]() 510 forum posts 215 photos | Yes, Andy, the England ladies team has won the 20 / 20 World Cup, not quite the equivalent of the Ashes, but very impressive, nevertheless.
Barry, seeing as we are being so politically correct, if a Test is being played in Wales, how come there isn't one in Scotland?

![]() As for the ENGLISH FA cup final being played in Wales, there was almost a revolution about it. ![]() |

We welcome well written contributions from Website members on almost any aspect of Model Boating with a particular emphasis on practical hints, tips, experience and builds.
In order to maintain a consistent standard and format, all suggestions should first be sent to me by Personal Message for approval in principle. Only a very limited amount of time is available for editing contributions into a suitable format for placing on the website so it is important that the material is well presented, lucid and free from obvious spelling errors. I think it goes without saying that contributions should be illustrated by appropriate photos. I shall be happy to give advice on this.
The Member Contribution area offers space for short informative mini articles which would not normally find a place in Model Boats magazine. It is an opportunity for Website Members to freely share their expertise and experience but I am afraid that virtue is its own reward as there is no budget to offer more material recompense!
I look forward to receiving your suggestions.
