I have a Constructo kit Pilot Boat Addaia 1/75 scale given to me as a present in the non-lockdown era - when I could sail my dinghy. The kit is complete except for build instructions. Have looked on youtube and its very helpful but as a beginner to such small scale woodwork I would need further information. Has anyone got anything or similar.

Stay safe

An unusual scale....1/72 is more normal (at least in plastic).

If the wood is good quality eg lime, it could carve ok, otherwise, there may be some *&^%$£"! about...

Could be time to sharpen and hone those chisels !

Good luck with the project.

Thanks Dave Cooper 6

Scale 1/75 (on the box). All wood, only plastic are the bags that the wood and fittings came in!

Hi Ken,

Just googled your ship kit, it looks a fine craft and pretty standard planked hull construction for a static model. I imagine the bulkhead s slot into the keel with the deck fitted, then the strip planking.

If you could get a copy of Harold Underhill's Plank on Frame Models Vol 1 you would find it most helpfull.

Good luck Regards Ray

We welcome well written contributions from Website members on almost any aspect of Model Boating with a particular emphasis on practical hints, tips, experience and builds.

In order to maintain a consistent standard and format, all suggestions should first be sent to me by Personal Message for approval in principle. Only a very limited amount of time is available for editing contributions into a suitable format for placing on the website so it is important that the material is well presented, lucid and free from obvious spelling errors. I think it goes without saying that contributions should be illustrated by appropriate photos. I shall be happy to give advice on this.

The Member Contribution area offers space for short informative mini articles which would not normally find a place in Model Boats magazine. It is an opportunity for Website Members to freely share their  expertise and experience but I am afraid that virtue is its own reward as there is no budget to offer more material recompense!

I look forward to receiving your suggestions.
