cullamix prop & rudder 002.jpghols 2016 june 053.jpghh cul june16 008.jpgcullamix 06.jpgHi All

Started this build back in the summer, I'm approaching the "take it off" the board stage always exciting to get on with the upper works, just fitting the waggle & wirly bits, did cheat and bought a nice brass prop, she is a Myhobbystore plan by Bernard Reeve draughted back in the 1940's, will try to make all the fitting from scratch from the scrap box Can't seem to get the photos in the right order ! more in my album.

cullamix 5 12 002.jpgcullamix 5 12 004.jpgHi All

Last night silver soldered the rudder stock and bottom pintle to the blade, and made a start on the cradle/stand for her to sit in, the card packers are to allow room for some felt for a soft berth.

As my boats are now all boxed up, I am leaning towards foam to sit the boats on with wedges and/or side pieces to keep the boat upright. This has the advantage of cushioning the boat against knocks, low weight and ease of fitment.

Hull very nice. Ray, indeed.

Thanks Ashley

Making the cradle so she sits at the same datum for drawing the waterline, 3/16" balsa planking which is easy and will have lightweight glasscloth and waterbased resin on the outside and heavy duty glasscloth and polyester resin inside as the weight of the battery and ballast will be considerable

Hi Ray

The Mist is beginning to clear now

Have had a few distractions lately which upset the build somewhat

I'm sanding the unpainted side of the hull, at the moment.......In fits and starts

All the best for Christmas btw

Bob

We welcome well written contributions from Website members on almost any aspect of Model Boating with a particular emphasis on practical hints, tips, experience and builds.

In order to maintain a consistent standard and format, all suggestions should first be sent to me by Personal Message for approval in principle. Only a very limited amount of time is available for editing contributions into a suitable format for placing on the website so it is important that the material is well presented, lucid and free from obvious spelling errors. I think it goes without saying that contributions should be illustrated by appropriate photos. I shall be happy to give advice on this.

The Member Contribution area offers space for short informative mini articles which would not normally find a place in Model Boats magazine. It is an opportunity for Website Members to freely share their  expertise and experience but I am afraid that virtue is its own reward as there is no budget to offer more material recompense!

I look forward to receiving your suggestions.
