How`s for a chimney?

Just chopped the ball from last night`s tin `o Guinness!

I like it, should look the biz when painted

Interesting work, creating the bits and pieces

If you have all the magazines, you will read that Andre hints that the ballast as shown on the plan was insufficient

I made a bolt on keel, it looks rather ugly, but did the trick

Thanks chaps for your technical advice

The so called chimney happens to be the main conning tower, as depicted on the heading photograph

And was a real swine to construct!

But that is designers intention.......To confuse the enemy and the builder

Thanks Paul

Hi Chaps

Made some progress lately, Painted the very handy sledge stand

Moved the cannon from the foredeck and onto the canopy top

Added a few signs of wear and tear etc

Now need to create a spectacular main control tower and a few gun turrets

Having seen the model on the floor for the first time this morning, at approx pond height, it does look unusually large for some reason, I`m not complaining.......Nice model, Paul

Hi Ashley

Hi Ashley

It`s on the plan as a top secret anchor aperture!

Fancy you not knowing that!

Tut tut

Very nice and tricky, Neil

What is that illuminated wall chart thingy?

It looks like a scene out of a James Bond Film?

Latest progress photo

Just sorting out the " Get it downstairs facility "

02/09/2020 18:07:28

Members are asking about my lack of posts lately

Reason.......Port side looks very similar to the starboard side!

At the moment, I'm fiddling with the sledge stand, to get the model downstairs for a float test in the bath

Finally, our old designer friend Paul Thomason is not too well at the moment........Get well soon my mate

How many more forum members find the centre distance of the motor bracket mounting holes, need to be wider for easy access with a screw driver?

We welcome well written contributions from Website members on almost any aspect of Model Boating with a particular emphasis on practical hints, tips, experience and builds.

In order to maintain a consistent standard and format, all suggestions should first be sent to me by Personal Message for approval in principle. Only a very limited amount of time is available for editing contributions into a suitable format for placing on the website so it is important that the material is well presented, lucid and free from obvious spelling errors. I think it goes without saying that contributions should be illustrated by appropriate photos. I shall be happy to give advice on this.

The Member Contribution area offers space for short informative mini articles which would not normally find a place in Model Boats magazine. It is an opportunity for Website Members to freely share their  expertise and experience but I am afraid that virtue is its own reward as there is no budget to offer more material recompense!

I look forward to receiving your suggestions.
