From the Editor…..

This issue is packed with diverse articles including a rebuild of an Elco Patrol Torpedo
Boat and the trials and tribulations that went with that project, as well as the second and last part of the review of the Model Slipway Assurance tug kit review. We also have a step by step construction article on the popular ACTion P94 dual electronic speed controller and mixer unit by John Elsy and Dr Marcus Rooks makes a welcome return with his construction of ‘Dodman’ a model paddle wheel steam engine.

Glynn Guest who has supplied many of the recent Free Plans is now also providing a monthly column dealing with radio controlled scale boat matters. Around the Clubs features Kirklees MBC with their 2010 Steam Convention and Readers’ Models features the craftsmanship of three different model boat builders, including a youngster with his first steam powered model. Stewart Rae is now representing the British Model Powerboat Racing Society, which is a new organisation representing those who wish to race offshore style model powerboats in the Midlands and North of the UK.

Dave Wiggins tests his newly rebuilt vintage powerboat in Collectors’ Corner Minis and Keith Julier discusses the all important pumps in his Period Ships column. The Gallery presented by David Walter is of Thames Lighterage Tugs which are always popular subjects for scale model boats.

So, there is plenty to interest model boat builders of all persuasions.
