I need a front view of this

681 forum posts 269 photos | Half way through my Barrelback build and already I'm looking for another Launch to build. what I've sort of plumped for is this.
Unfortunately I can so far only find these 3 views of it and could really do with a head on front view. (much like the stern view) to import to my cad prog so as to get the bow shape dead right can anyone point me in the right direction please |

681 forum posts 269 photos | Due to the apparent lack of details and further photos of this craft I've resorted to projecting the bow lines over the stern view using measurements from the plan and stern view.
This has enabled me to produce a complete set (well almost) of formers and a keel outline also for reference I've produced a set of outline tracings of the plan and side view these will be used to produce the horizontal frame outlines. |

681 forum posts 269 photos | Hi again Bob If you look closely. Its not that clear with out enlarging the pics to full size they're screen shots from a cad set at A0 (thats like 1100mm wide) the dark line on the side view is the propshaft line and above it and facing the front is a rough outline showing proposed motor pos. the idea is use a belt drive. and positioned where it is between F4 and F7 it sits under the control deck I hope. Still lots more drawing to do, still I've got till August at least. How easy is it to prevent water entering through the prop shaft if the inboard end is below the waterline? I assume it must be possible. I hope!!!

681 forum posts 269 photos | Well 3 weeks has passed the barrel back has passed her sea trials and a month or 2 ahead of schedule most of the hardware and planking for the Holmeswood are winging their way to me courtesy of various members of the ever popular internet auction site. The plans are complete and have been printed and the timber for the frame will be purchased by the end of the week so watch this space chaps et al

681 forum posts 269 photos | I'll do my best Bob but can't build any bigger due to workshop restrictions and that means this will be 1/7th scale so maybe those 1/6th figures at CMB won't look out of place. Pricey though at a tenner apeice a driver and a few passengers would soon add up my current budget looks like being in the region of £60 so 3 figures would add 50% quite a lot really so what price realism

1996 forum posts 596 photos | Hello Phil
How long is your model at 1/7th scale ?.......what motor etc
I`m now building the 1/6th scale Slo Mo Shun and certainly will have the obligatory driver....I`m hoping to have the driver turn his head with the rudder and steering wheel too!.........hopefully
Got plenty of time to find a suitabell chappie!

681 forum posts 269 photos | At 24' full size the model comes out at 1m with the slo mo wuold you not only need a bust and would racing/period civvy pilot style attire not look appropriate in which case have a nose around some of the model aircraft web shops esp "steve webb models" I think thats the name for a motor I'm utilising another model car 540 motor not so hot this time and geared right down for that 70mm scale prop hopefully giving a nice scale speed this is not one I want stood on its tail at full ahead. with any luck the drivers hand will appear to move the steering wheel in time with the rudder. The wheel should mount directly onto a micro servo below the control panel

681 forum posts 269 photos | At last I've got round to taking some photo's of the progress so far. not bad really thankfully no serious errors on the plan the formers have all gone together nicely.
The keel is solid Oak, the formers are 12mm wbp fair faced ply and the deck bearers are Obiechi. It will be planked with 2mm Mahogany planks laid length ways and sealed on the inside with resin. the round holes in formers 9, 8 & 7 are for cables and cooling tubes to run as most of the hardware will be housed under the central control console/seat |
